Security

We are concerned about your privacy and protection! We use the latest technology to keep your information private.

We use a secure server with the latest 128 bit encryption technology installed. Any sensitive information sent from your secure browser to our server uses SSL encryption technology. This scrambles the information and prevents others from viewing it. As you are shopping online with us, your browser will automatically switch between the normal and SSL encrypted mode. This is typical; often browsers will provide informative messages indicating a change in security mode.

What is a secure browser?

Browsers that support the SSL encryption technology are called secure browsers. Most Netscape Navigator (version 1.2 and later) and Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers (version 3.0 and later) are secure. Your browser will automatically enter the secure mode when you make purchases on our server.

In Netscape browsers, a key appears in the lower left hand corner to indicate the current security mode. When the key appears unbroken , data sent between your browser and the Web site is secure; if the key appears broken , the data is being sent unencrypted.

In Microsoft browsers, a lock appears in the lower right hand status bar during a secure session. No lock is visible during normal unencrypted sessions.

What is a secure server?

A secure server communicates to the secure browser. You can tell if the website is a secure browser by the web address. Most websites have a web address such as http://www.fitnessfire.net a secure server will have a web address, such as: https://www.fitnessfire.net. Please note the "S" after the http. (this indicates a secure server)

Why do I get security warning messages?

Most secure browsers will warn users when their browser leaves the secure mode of operation. Typical instances are:
following a purchase
after viewing the order form
after adding an item to the shopping cart
If the warning options have been turned off in your browser, you may not see these messages. However, we always ensure that your information is safely handled.

Can't I just e-mail my order to you?

Normal E-mail is not a secure way to send credit card and other private information over the internet. For your security, we HIGHLY reccomend that you NEVER email us, or any other merchant your credit card information. We also HIGHLY reccomend that you never enter your credit card information onto a website that does not have a SECURE SERVER, while you are running a secure browser.

What about my privacy? Will you reveal my personal information to anyone?

We do not release your name, address, phone or email address to ANY outside third party for any purpose other than to process your order.
